New professors delivered inaugural lectures on 11 May

Inaugural lectures provide new professors with an opportunity to present an overview of their research, including the latest achievements, future directions and key questions in their fields. The lectures also serve as an occasion to welcome new professors into the academic community.
The lectures took place across all three campuses and concluded with a joint celebration in the Main Building (Päätalo) on the city centre campus. The afternoon event was streamed live for remote participants. The recording will remain available for two weeks.
At the afternoon event, Antti Saari and Heidi Kuusniemi delivered their inaugural lectures and flowers were presented to all the professors who gave a lecture during the day. President Keijo Hämäläinen gave the opening speech, and the string quartet FINESTre performed.
We thank all the participants and extend our warmest congratulations to all our new professors.
