The course includes a Lean project that the student carries out independently. The purpose of the independent project is to practice applying appropriate Lean tools in practice. The goal is to solve a customer-oriented problem or develop a company process from a customer perspective. The course is an online self-learning course with an introductory lecture to help you select and get started on projects. In addition, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt support is available as needed. The course is implemented in the Moodle learning environment. The course is at Master’s level.

After completing the course, you will understand the key principles of lean and will be able to work in company development work in accordance with Lean and Lean Six Sigma principles, identifying problems and solving them in a matter-oriented and result-oriented manner. You will be able to define customer needs and form goals for the organization in accordance with lean principles. You will be able to define and select lean tools and use them appropriately in lean projects and problem solving. You will be able to quantitatively research and test the effectiveness of development measures. You will be able to carry out lean projects. After completing the course, you will receive a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certificate as a proof that you know how to act as a member of a Lean Six Sigma project.
