Learn business by doing
Learning in International Business is highly practice‑oriented. Your studies include contact teaching, virtual and blended learning, case studies, company projects and team‑based assignments. In the first year of studies you apply theory in practice and develop essential working‑life skills such as teamwork, communication, problem solving and self‑management through the Virtual Firm. Learning takes place under the guidance of experienced teachers and team coaches who support both individual and team development.
Choose your specialisation
In your second year, you shape your own career path by choosing two specialisation modules (15 ECTS each) from eight options:
- Accounting and Finance
- Digital Business
- Experience Economy
- Human Resource Management and Leadership
- Innovation Management and Business Development
- Digital Marketing
- Supply Chain Management
- Sustainable Entrepreneurship
These specialisations allow you to deepen your expertise in areas that match your interests and career goals.
International experience as part of your degree
Internationality is a core element of the programme. A study period abroad is a required part of the degree, preparing you for international working life. Finnish nationals complete both an international student exchange and an international practical training placement, while international study and training periods are strongly recommended for students of other nationalities. With an extensive global partner network, you can gain valuable international experience almost anywhere in the world. International Business also have Double Degree programmes with KEDGE Business School (Bordeaux, France) and Munich University of Applied Sciences (Germany).
Career opportunities
Graduates of the International Business programme work in a wide range of business roles in Finland and abroad. Typical career paths include positions in marketing, sales, customer relations, supply chain management, project management, consulting and entrepreneurship. The degree also provides a strong foundation for further studies and professional development.
