Digital marketing, 5 cr

After completing the course, the student is able to design, evaluate and implement basic digital marketing strategies. The student understands the characteristics of user-friendly websites and is able to perform social media marketing in evolving mediascape. In addition, the student understands the basics of search engine optimization (SEO) and is able to design and create SEO-friendly content. The student can analyze and interpret basic digital data in marketing decision making.
The course familiarizes students with the key concepts and operations in digital marketing, including social media marketing. Special focus is placed on applying different digital marketing tools in different kind of business settings. The course integrates lectures and practical exercises with the aim of delivering students good practical insight into designing and implementing digital marketing in different organizations.
The course is based on basic level of marketing. Thus, a student is required to have completed a basic-level course in marketing, for instance KATMAP11 Markkinoinnin perusteet (Introduction to Marketing) or similar course.
