Student can describe different uses of criminal policy. Student can discuss and argue how and why society acts and could act toward criminal behaviour. Student understands prime prevention practices. Student is familiar with current trends and historical development of criminal policy.
Unit introduces criminal policy as a foundation of criminal justice system but also as policy-level actions made to prevent criminal behaviour. It questions how and why we as society act towards criminal behaviour.
