Circular economy, value creation, sustainable design, life cycle thinking, sustainability, resilience, risks, megatrends, society, leadership.

During this course, students form their own idea of circular economy by using a real case study from working life. Students process the case study further with other participants and teachers. After the course, students are able to recognize the future potential and possible risks involved with circular economy. Students will also be able to connect the global megatrends to the development of circular economy and unserstand how designing and life cycle thinking helps to increase the level of circularity in organizations. The course approaches circular economy from local, national, and global levels, which gives an ability to see the impacts of circular economy in a wider picture. During the course, students will use the principles of co-creation method in managing design processes, products and services in circular economy. After the course, students will have an ability to justify phenomena in circular economy in critical perspective and understand various challenges in pursuing sustainability from techno-economic and management viewpoints.

Before taking this course, you need to have all your basic studies done. The course is primarily aimed for fourth year students.
