Access to Further Studies

Bachelor's degree graduates can complement their competence in many ways:

Open Higher Education

You have the possibility to develop your professional skills in open higher education. Open higher education studies are open for all regardless of their basic education and age. The studies are organised during the day, in the evenings and weekends as well as online in all Finnish universities of applied sciences.

Professional Specialisation Studies

Professional specialisation studies are extensive continuing education programmes based on a bachelor's degree, a vocational college diploma or other applicable higher education degree. The studies are not degree awarding. The extent of the specialisation studies is 30-60 credits, and you can be complete them alongside work. At the moment, professional specialisation studies are offered only in Finnish.

Vocational Teacher Education

TAMK's School of Vocational Teacher Education organises vocational teacher education for university of applied science, vocational institution and adult education centre teachers. The education also gives the pedagogical qualifications for other teachers. The extent of the education is 60 credits, and you can complete it alongside work in 1.5 - 2 years.

Extension Studies

In addition to degree-awarding education, TAMK offers possibilities to develop professional skills in working life. The length of the versatile extension studies varies from a couple of days to a year or two.

Master's Degree Programmes in Universities of Applied Sciences

Master's degree programmes organised by universities of applied sciences offer bachelor's degree graduates an opportunity to deepen and expand their special expertise. The eligibility criteria for the degrees are a bachelor's degree or other applicable higher education degree as well as three years of work experience.

The master's degree programmes consist of 60 or 90 credits (1 or 1.5 years of full-time study).

University Studies

After the bachelor's degree it is possible to continue studies in universities. As an applicant you may be required to complete complementary studies.
