The research project explores and analyzes investigative journalists’ perceptions of work-related risks, and security practices that journalists utilize to mitigate them. The key aspects of the study are physical safety, information security, and source protection.
The cross-national research project will be carried out in three European countries: Finland, Estonia, and the Czech Republic.
In Finland, the research is conducted by Postdoctoral Research Fellow Ilmari Hiltunen.
The Finnish segment is supported by the Communication Rights in the Age of Digital Disruption (CORDI) research consortium funded by the Academy of Finland.
