Modular Platform for Epilepsy Modelling (MEMO)

In this project, the aim is to prepare commercialization pathway for organ-on-chip based system that enables the modeling of epileptic seizures. This modular human-based brain-on-chip platform allows the studies of drug responses in the management of epileptic seizures. The seizures are induced in the brain-like neuronal network and simultaneously, the neuronal activity can be recorded. This brain-on-chip modeling epilepsy accelerates and enhances the preclinical phases of drug development by improving the predictability of results.

During R2B project, the usability of technology will be studied, and the commercialization route and future funding model of the concept will be prepared.
