Duration of project10.3.2021–30.6.2024
Area of focusHealth, Technology

Post-surgery patients require pain medication for both relieving the suffering and promoting recovery. Currently used efficient pain medication however endanger the patients to respiratory depression, which may be lethal. At the moment these patients done not have continuous monitoring but the patient are followed by nurses during occasional visits in patient rooms. The project investigates the commercialization potential of novel, accurate and reliable monitoring technology that follows and analyses patients’ vital signs. The solution doesn’t restrict patient mobility and thus allows patients to move, which is known to advance the recovery. The technology has also other potential applications, which will be evaluated during the project.
