Clinical Physiology

Research group’s activity focuses on the evaluation of cardiovascular function, hemodynamics and cardiometabolics in health and disease as well as better recognition of high-risk patient. The study group includes experienced clinical physiologists and clinicians (both junior and senior investigators).

Our goal is to improve recognition of high cardiovascular risk.

The Cardiovascular Risk in Young Finns Study: The Cardiovascular Risk in Young Finns Study is one of the largest follow-up studies into cardiovascular risk from childhood to adulthood. The main aim is to determine the contribution made by childhood lifestyle, biological, and psychological measures to the risk of cardiovascular diseases in adulthood. http://youngfinnsstudy.utu.fi/

The Finnish Cardiovascular Study, a large-scale one-center prospective follow-up study of 4,200 patients focusing on cardiovascular risk.
