About me

I am a Chilean researcher working on mechanisms of allergy development. I studied Biochemistry as my Bachelors degree (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile) and focus on vaccine development for Human Metapneumo Virus during my undergraduate thesis. After graduation I worked at the Biotechnology Laboratory of the Department of Agriculture of Chile in the identification of animal and plant pathogens using molecular biology approaches. I specialised in Immunology during my Master in Medical and Pharmaceutical Drug Innovation (MPDI) at the University of Groningen (The Netherlands). During my MSc. I was part of projects adressing food allergies and new testing platform for vaccine development. Finally, I moved to Finland to pursuit a PhD in Immunology understanding the mechanisms of allergic inflammation and its relation with environmental factors.
