About me

I am an environmental microbiologist. My doctoral research focused on how microbial life influences global biogeochemical cycles, with an emphasis on aerobic metabolisms in anoxic sulfidic marine sediments. Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at Tampere University, where I study microbial metabolisms related to methane, in boreal lake ecosystems. My dedication to understanding microbial processes and their environmental impact reflects both my expertise and passion for the field.

Fields of expertise

I developed expertise in analyzing and interpreting the role of microbes in aquatic environments using biochemical analysis, culture-dependent methods, and omics-based approaches.

Research fields

Microbiology, Geomicrobiology, Carbon biogeochemical cycle
