Tampere University’s master’s programmes attracted more than 2,500 applications

A decline in the number of applicants was observed, which was likely influenced by both the introduction of an application fee and the change of full-cost tuition fees for non-EU/EEA citizens. The total number of applicants was 1,640.
The University offers 33 English-language master’s programmes. Students admitted to these programmes will graduate as Master of Arts or Social Sciences, and Master of Science, Engineering or Architecture.
The most popular study options were the three programmes in Computing Sciences and Electrical Engineering: Data Science (219 applications), Software, Web & Cloud (199 applications) and Signal Processing and Machine Learning (130 applications). Applicants were able to apply for a maximum of two (2) programmes.
There were a total of 1,640 individual applicants representing a hundred different nationalities. One hundred and fifty-one Finns applied. The share of non-EU and non-EEA applicants was 81% (1,462 applicants).
The application period of English-language bachelor’s programmes will expire on 21 January 2026.
