IEM Talks: Interview with Professor Teemu Laine

In the interview, Laine reflects on his career from an Industrial Engineering and Management student and researcher to professor and leader of the Cost Management Center research group. He discusses how his research interests have developed over the years, particularly in management accounting, profitability management, industrial services, sustainability, digitalization, and artificial intelligence.
The discussion also addresses collaboration with companies and international research partners, leadership and supervision, the relationship between sustainability and profitability, and the role of facts and feelings in managerial decision-making. Based on more than two decades of academic experience, Laine also shares his views and advice for students and early-career researchers in Industrial Engineering and Management.
