Stanford University has recently published an update of the list of the 2023 World's Top 2% Scientists from different disciplines. Tampere University has shown a secured prominent position in this ranking. This accolade is rooted in the comprehensive bibliometric data sourced from the Scopus database, encompassing an extensive cohort of over 200,000 researchers. This elite group constitutes the top 2% of the 8 million scientists identified as active contributors to 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields worldwide.

Within this distinguished group, Tampere University boasts the representation of 86 affiliated scientists, whose expertise spans key scientific domains such as Information Systems, Telecommunications, Artificial Intelligence, Education, Business, and Social Sciences.

Remarkably, the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences stands out with a robust presence on the list, featuring 31 researchers dedicated to advancing knowledge and innovation. Noteworthy among them is Professor Juho Hamari, a luminary in the field, who has achieved the remarkable distinction of being ranked first in Finland! This recognition underscores the ITC Faculty's commitment to excellence and positions Professor Juho Hamari as a leading figure not only in Finland but also on the global stage.
