Proakatemia’s educational model offers the influencers a chance to keep furthering their career and business while studying a degree.

In January 2022, a number of international influencers of today and tomorrow will start their studies at TAMK's Proakatemia in the new Influencers Academy programme, provided by Edunation. It is a customised bachelor's degree in entrepreneurship and team leadership, in which influencers can study while continuing with their own careers.

Previously, there has not been a university degree that was directly designed for influencers and those who wanted to be such.

– The best alternative for this was TAMK's Proakatemia degree, in which team entrepreneurs, ie. the students, can work as entrepreneurs and at the same time learn about a topic that interests them, describes Peter Perttula, who works in TAMK's education export team as a customer relationship manager.

Because the programme is based on the pedagogy of Proakatemia, its basis is on team coaching and learning. After the programme, the influencers graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

– The degree provides the skills for a wide range of entrepreneurship and teamwork, as well as excellent networks to continue as an entrepreneur after graduation, Perttula describes.

Dancer, singer and model Joalin Loukamaa, who will start her studies at Influencers Academy, writes on the webpages of the programme that she had been considering studying for a long time. However, no educational programme would have made it possible to advance her career alongside her studies. That’s why she’s really excited to be among the first to get into the new Influencer Academy.

– it’s like dream come true, honestly, she describes in her blog post.

Perttula states that the new education programme is a great opportunity for growth not only for the students, but also for TAMK.

– This gives TAMK the opportunity to be at the forefront of providing training for young people interested in influencer marketing. The group's students come mainly from outside the EU, so TAMK also gains visibility in countries where it has maybe not been heard of before.

The administrator of the programme is Edunation, a Tampere-based education export company. Edunation cooperates with numerous Finnish and European universities, taking their education around the world. TAMK's Proakatemia acts as a service provider in the programme. The programme will also have numerous guest lecturers, such as Peter Vesterbacka, the father of Angry Birds.
