Dreaming of exchange studies in Japan, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, China or in some other Asian country? Now is your chance! Apply for an exchange in Asia during the autumn application period.

Why study in Asia?

Student exchange in Asia gives a great chance to explore different cultures and ways of life that are very different from Europe. Asia is an exciting mix of old traditions and modern technology, which makes it an interesting place for exchange students. During the exchange, you can really get to know local cultures, learn new languages if you want, and enjoy the rich and varied food culture of the region. You’ll also get real-life experience of fast-growing economies that are becoming more important in the global economy.

Exchange helps you build useful international connections that can support your career later on. The experience shows employers that you can adapt to new situations and work in multicultural environments, which gives you a clear advantage in the job market.

Where can I apply?

During the main application period for student exchange destinations outside Europe for the academic year 2027–2028, you can apply to:

  • Bilateral exchange destinations in Asia
  • Bilateral exchange destinations in Latin America
  • Bilateral exchange destinations in North America
  • ISEP exchange programme (North America and more)
  • Bilateral destinations in Africa and Australia

You can apply to up to five destinations and/or programmes during the autumn application period.

Where can I find application instructions and more information about the exchange destinations?

Please note that if you are studying in an English-taught degree programme, you must obtain approval for your exchange application from your education specialist and attach the approval to your application.
