Graduation ceremony 11.6.2022

The celebrations of the graduates will be celebrated in June and in December. Graduation ceremony is mainly for Master's degree graduates but those Bachelor's degree graduates who are eligible for Bachelor's degree only are also invited to attend.  

All students who graduated in 2020-21 are welcome to participate in the graduation ceremonies in June 2022. You can also attend the ceremony if your studies are finished but you do not graduate in time for the ceremony. Relatives are welcome to attend the event, up to 2 guest per graduate.

Unless your Faculty advises you differently, graduated students gather about half an hour prior to the event in Rector’s portrait gallery on floor 2 of the Main Building

The graduated students will form a procession that walks into the auditorium led by the President. The relatives and other guests should find places in the auditorium well in advance (half an hour).

The dress code is either

• a suit (a combination of a jacket, trousers and a dress shirt is also all right as long as the outfit is festive) or
• a festive dress, skirt suit, or a trouser suit.

The same dress code also applies to the guests. On the Hervanta campus, wearing the Teekkari cap is recommended.

The programme of the ceremony includes

• The Formal Procession,
• Greetings by Representative of the Executive Leadership of Tampere University, Vice President Marja Sutela
• Alumna speech, DSc (Tech) ja LicSc Sirkka Hagman, Vice president, Black Donuts Engineering
• Music, The String Quartet of Tampere Academic Symphony Orchestra
• The Graduates' Speech, MSc.(Health), MSc.(Tech.) Eeva-Reetta Erkkilä
• Greetings by Chair of the Board, Aleksi Jaakkola, TREY Student Union
• Gaudeamus Igitur

The ceremony lasts for about an hour, after which sparkling wine is served outside the auditorium and the guests can congratulate the graduates.

The students of early childhood education will provied a childpark-service during the ceremony in lecture hall C9 near the Rector’s portrait gallery.

There will be three graduation ceremonies in June:

• two at city centre campus on Friday 10th June 2022 at 18.00 (max 250 graduates) and Saturday 11th June 2022 at 12.00 (max 250 graduates) and
• one graduation ceremony at Hervanta campus on Friday 17th June 2020 at 18.00 (max 150 graduates).

The ceremony at Hervanta campus is mainly for those who have studied at Hervanta campus, but you can also attend a ceremony at city centre campus if that suits you better.

Deadlines to sign-up for the ceremonies are:

• 10.6.2022 ceremony at 18.00, City centre campus (by 6.6.2022 at 12.00)
• 11.6.2022 ceremony at 12.00, City centre campus (by 6.6.2022 at 12.00)
• 17.6.2022 ceremony at 18.00, Hervanta campus (by 13.6.2022 at 12.00)
