Tell us about yourself and your studies

I am a second-year master's student in the Teaching, Learning and Media education program of Tampere University. I got my Bachelor of Arts in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language and was a primary school teacher in China.

What is your favourite thing about your study programme at Tampere University?

This program is an excellent resource for students interested in learning about Finnish education. Not only are there many courses that cover education in Finland, but there are also courses that offer students the opportunity to observe and interact in local schools.

What kind of student activities have you participated in?

I have attended picnics, pre-Wappu Sitsit parties, autumn hikes, and informal parties organized by teachers, student organizations, SportsUni, and fellow students.

Did you develop any special skills while studying in Tampere?

Since Tampere is a multicultural city where we can meet people from all over the world, my intercultural communication skills have been enhanced here.

What tips would you give to new students who are applying to study here?

If you have any problems or doubts during the application process, you can email the official consultation in time. The teachers, staff, and students of Tampere University are always very helpful.

What do you like most about Finland?

Natural scenery with four distinct seasons and the Finnish philosophy of less is more.

What do you like to do in your free time in Tampere?

Go into the forest! I have lived in Tampere for one and a half years, but there are still a lot of different forests waiting for me to explore.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Studying at Tampere university brings me a lot of joy!
