I am a Senior Researcher and Lecturer at the Faculty of Education and Culture, Tampere University.
My research examines how education policies, ideas and practices travel between global, national and local contexts. I am particularly interested in global education governance, international organisations, comparative education, education quality and the ways in which global policy frameworks are interpreted and reshaped in specific educational settings. At the same time, my work also examines the reverse movement: how local and national practices, policy experiments, interests and expert knowledge travel into international organisations, where they are reframed, legitimised and incorporated into broader policy frameworks and global agendas.
Työtehtävät
At Tampere University, I work as a senior researcher and lecturer in the Faculty of Education and Culture. I contribute to research, teaching, supervision and international collaboration. I am a member of the EDUKNOW research group, Knowledge, Power, and Politics in Education. I also lead the Finnish team in an international comparative project on school-based messages about climate change and sustainable development and collaborate with Higher Education Institutions in Angola, Brazil and Mozambique.
