We are pleased to announce the 12th Markus Pessa International Summer School on “New Frontiers in Optical Technologies,” taking place from August 11th to 15th, 2025, at Tampere University’s Hervanta Campus.
Founded in 2001, this renowned summer school has become a leading event in the field of optical technologies, attracting over 120 participants each year—primarily PhD students from around the globe. Since 2023, the School has been dedicated to the memory of Professor Markus Pessa, founder of the Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC), honoring his profound contributions to the optics and photonics community. This year’s program will delve into cutting-edge topics including:
- Advanced laser technologies
- Quantum optics and quantum technology
- Optical systems and sensing
- Fiber technology
- Photonic integration
- Entrepreneurship in photonics
