The research group studies the entanglements between nature and media technology. The group integrates media-theoretical, new-materialist, and posthumanist perspectives and sees media technologies and their infrastructures as networked environments linked to modes of perception, information-production practices, and planetary boundaries. Research topics encompass the materiality of data, environmental impacts of media technologies, sensory knowledge, artificial intelligence, algorithms, and power.
