Description

Study module engages you with criminological questions about deviant behaviour, criminological theories and criminal policy. It offers insight into criminal behaviour, other types of norm breaking behaviour, and causes and consequences of deviance emphasizing the life course perspective. Study module introduces you also to reactions towards deviant behaviour at individual, community and societal level. You will familiarise yourself with cutting-edge research on criminology as you will obtain theoretical and methodological tools to understand and analyse criminal policy and deviant behaviour from individual and societal perspectives. Upon completion you will be able to tackle criminal issues from formal and unformal point of views.

Study module enhances and broadens the scope of BA and MA studies at large as it can be included into most of the study programs as elective studies. As supplementary studies the study module develops the student's professional expertise in questions related deviance and social control as societal issues as well as the students ability to apply this expertise in relevant fields.
