Juniversity – Let's spark a passion for science together!

Juniversity is Tampere University’s science education programme for children and young people. It inspires them to learn and explore science, research and university studies. Space technology is Juniversity’s latest initiative, bringing science closer to children and young people, sparking their curiosity about the field and helping them understand the possibilities of technology.

Together, we can inspire children and young people to discover the world of science and technology! Your donation makes it possible to organise workshops, events and educational activities across Finland, while providing free learning materials and support for teachers in science and technology education.

Science education shapes the future

Juniversity inspires children and young people to explore science through engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Research-based knowledge and practical activities help them understand what research is, why it matters and what opportunities it can open up.

Juniversity’s work promotes:

  • Interest in science – inspiring experiences and discoveries that spark curiosity about research.
  • Educational equality – lowering barriers to science and creating more equal opportunities to learn.
  • Future-ready skills – developing critical thinking, information literacy and the ability to address societal challenges.
  • Participation and inclusion – helping children and young people understand the impact of science and technology and take part in discussions about them.

Understanding science and technology is essential for individuals and society alike. It supports innovation, economic growth and our ability to address global challenges, while strengthening society’s resilience and capacity to respond to crises. By giving children and young people opportunities to explore science, we help build a future guided by curiosity, critical thinking and reliable knowledge.
