NOODI – Donate to a Modern Research Centre Shaping Finland’s Future

Make a donation today
Noodi enables research that prevents diseases, develops safer technology and improves everyday well-being. Your donation can lead to faster diagnostics, strengthen critical infrastructure and advance clean energy innovations. If you don’t wish to allocate your donation to a specific theme, you can make a general donation!
Direct your donation to the research area that matters to you
You can support Noodi as a whole or allocate your donation to a specific theme or research field that is particularly meaningful to you. You can find our key themes below. Donating is easy and secure through our digital donation form.

Innovations for the Green Transition
The impacts of climate change are becoming increasingly evident in more extreme weather events, shifting seasons and growing pressure on ecosystems and communities. At the same time, Europe is now the fastest-warming continent in the world. At Tampere University, our research supports the green transition through cutting-edge work in the bio and circular economy, biochemical engineering and new energy technologies.

Aerosol Science
Air pollution is one of the most serious environmental threats to human health. According to the World Health Organization, more than 99% of the world’s population breathes air that exceeds recommended safe air quality limits. At Tampere University, we bring together advanced measurement expertise, knowledge of combustion and emissions, atmospheric sciences and quantum chemical aerosol process modeling to advance air quality and climate solutions.

Health Technology
Healthcare costs are rising due to population ageing, as well as the increasing prevalence of chronic diseases and mental health challenges. To address these challenges our research focuses on digital and AI-driven health technologies, the development of targeted therapies and predictive human tissue models to support safer drug development and reduce the need for animal testing.

Photonics
Photonics is the science and technology of generating, controlling and detecting light. It underpins modern digital infrastructure and plays a key role across almost all industries — from communications and semiconductor manufacturing to healthcare, energy and security. Tampere University is known for its breakthroughs especially in semiconductor lasers, supercontinuum sources, fiber lasers and integrated photonics.

Space Technology and Digital Resilience
Interference with satellite positioning and timing systems has increased significantly since the beginning of 2022, disrupting aviation and maritime transport, rescue operations as well as the functioning of stock exchanges and data networks. Measures to counter such interference remain limited, increasing the need for more resilient critical systems. At Tampere University TAU Space Group works across technology, data science, materials engineering, security and economics to strengthen Finland’s resilience and security.
