Build expertise for a digital and connected future
Digital technologies are transforming the way we live, work and communicate. From artificial intelligence and data analytics to communication networks and renewable energy systems, modern society relies on expertise in computing sciences and electrical engineering. As digitalisation continues across all sectors, the demand for skilled professionals is growing rapidly.
In the Computing Sciences and Electrical Engineering bachelor's programme, you will gain strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills in areas such as programming, data analysis, mathematical modelling and intelligent systems. These skills prepare you to develop the technologies and innovations that will drive a smarter and more sustainable future.
Learn through science, technology and research
During your first year, you will build a strong foundation in computing sciences and electrical engineering as well as in mathematics and physics. In your second year, you will focus on computational data analysis, information technology or electrical engineering and select a minor subject that matches your interests. At the same time, elective studies at Tampere University enable you to tailor your degree to your personal interests.
The three majors available in the Computing Sciences and Electrical Engineering programme are Information Technology, Electrical Engineering and Computational Data Analysis.
In Information Technology and Electrical Engineering can choose to focus your studies on:
- Signal Processing and Machine Learning
- Software Development
- Power Engineering
- Communications Engineering
- Electronics and Embedded Systems
In Computational Data Analysis, you will focus on mathematical tools on algorithms, programming and data modelling.
Your studies combine theory with practical learning. You will work on projects, laboratory exercises and real engineering problems while developing both technical and teamwork skills.
We offer second-year students the opportunity to join a research group through a research training placement. This allows you to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge research while earning ECTS credits.
This bachelor's programme is taught in English. Before applying, please check our language requirements for bachelor's programmes.
Continue seamlessly to a master's degree
After completing your Bachelor of Science in Technology degree, you can continue directly to a master's degree at Tampere University without reapplying. You can choose from several Master of Science (Technology) programmes and further specialise in areas that match your interests and career goals.
