Duration of project1.1.2025–31.12.2027

The SafeH2 project significantly improves the competitiveness of Finland and Finnish companies in hydrogen safety, hydrogen production as part of a flexible electricity system and electrolyzer technology. One of the important research topics is hydrogen leaks relevant to industry and methods for avoiding them to minimize potential damage.

A handbook on hydrogen safety will be prepared to accelerate hydrogen projects. The project will develop and characterize PEM, alkaline and anion exchange electrolyzers to optimize their operation and improve the profitability of hydrogen projects. The project is an important part of Danfoss and Neste's Business Finland ecosystems. The research partners of the project are VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd, Aalto University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences Ltd.
