NORDIC Workshops: Safety Innovations for Resilient Industry

Tampere University of Applied Sciences
Duration of project1.8.2026–31.8.2028

NORDIC – Workshops for Safety Innovations for Resilient Industry is a collaborative project involving higher education institutions and industry partners from Finland, Norway, and Lithuania. The project seeks to strengthen safety, resilience, and crisis preparedness in safety-critical sectors through the use of digital technologies, including 360° environments, simulations, and digital twin solutions

Background

Industries are facing rapid changes driven by digitalisation, the green transition, and increasing demands for safety and preparedness. Organisations need new competences and approaches to risk management, crisis response, and the integration of digital safety solutions. NORDIC addresses these challenges by bringing together Nordic and Baltic universities, experts, and companies to co-develop innovative and practical approaches to safety and resilience.

Goal

The project aims to:

increase competence and risk awareness among professionals in safety-critical industries
share experiences of digital safety and training solutions
strengthen collaboration between higher education and industry
identify and share good practices across the Nordic and Baltic region
produce a joint roadmap and publication to support future development in safety, resilience, and digital innovation.

Impact

NORDIC enhances the ability of companies, educational institutions, and stakeholders to anticipate, prevent, and manage safety-related risks. The project promotes the adoption of digital safety solutions, supports the green transition, and strengthens regional and international collaboration. Its outcomes include practical recommendations, scalable models, and long-term Nordic-Baltic cooperation that contributes to greater industrial resilience and preparedness
