The Next-Master's Degree project is a joint initiative between Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) and the Employment and Growth Services of the City of Tampere (TYKAS).
Its goal is to renew the Master's Degree Programme in Social Services to better meet the evolving competence needs of working life and to strengthen continuous learning. The project is implemented as a consortium, developing new, work-integrated study modules that support flexible study paths and improve access to education, especially for those in a weaker labour market position.
During the project, two new 5-credit online modules will be created and piloted:
Multidisciplinary Employment Services and Network Expertise
Client-Oriented Guidance and Assessment Competence Development in Employment Services. The modules are piloted through real-life work projects and partnerships, and their development is evaluated based on feedback from participants and working life partners.
As a result, a systematic co-development model will be created, enabling the continuous updating of educational content to meet the needs of working life and fostering broader collaboration between higher education and employment organizations.
In the long term, the project strengthens the competence capital of employment services, embeds work-based pedagogy, increases educational equality, and diversifies career opportunities.
The results and best practices will be disseminated nationally and will be openly available for use by higher education institutions and working life stakeholders.
