Future Innovations in Manufacturing Industry Through New Skills

Tampere University of Applied Sciences
Duration of project1.1.2025–31.12.2025

The aim is to develop new ways to respond to the problem of meeting a regionally important sector (manufacturing industry) and to future labour shortages.

Background

Innovating the future of manufacturing with new talent (INNOVA) brings together the Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences to develop new ways to address the regionally important sector (manufacturing industry) and future labour shortages. The main areas of focus are robotics and industrial data and analytics.

Goal

INNOVA seeks to answer the following three questions:
1. What kind of skills of graduates in robotics and industrial data can be used by industrial companies to support growth?
2. How can individual- and business-oriented training provision be enabled using new foresight methods?
3. How to improve higher education's provision of lifelong learning to better meet the changing skills needs of manufacturing industry?

Impact

The results will summarise future skills needs in robotics and industrial data and provide new insights into the use of foresight methods. In addition, INNOVA will formulate a proposal to improve continuous learning training services and submit an application for further funding to accompany the proposal.
