The Digital Health 3 project strengthens collaboration and innovation in the health sector in the Tampere region by supporting the development of SMEs, the piloting and commercialisation of new technologies, and the development of testing platforms. The project promotes RDI collaboration between businesses and research institutions as well as regional and international networking.

Background

Social and health care is undergoing a major transformation driven by digitalisation, demographic change, workforce shortages, and sustainability challenges. Addressing these challenges requires user-centred, equitable, and needs-based solutions developed through multidisciplinary collaboration. The Digital Health 3 project responds by strengthening collaboration between SMEs, research institutions, and the public sector in the Tampere region. It supports SMEs in piloting, testing, and commercialising digital health solutions through innovative procurement models, test platforms, and improved regulatory competence. By promoting prevention, health promotion, ecosystem development, and regional and international networking, the project enhances competitiveness and creates sustainable structures for innovation beyond the project’s lifetime.

Impact

Digital Health 3 strengthens the health innovation ecosystem in the Tampere region by promoting collaboration between SMEs, research institutions, and the public sector. The project supports the development, piloting, and adoption of needs-based and user-centred digital solutions, while improving SMEs’ competitiveness through consortium models, regulatory competence, and innovative procurement practices. Its focus on prevention and health promotion contributes to the development of sustainable, equitable, and impactful social and health services.
