The DINO project investment includes a portable laser system for the manufacturing of demonstration products, as well as software licenses enabling data sharing within the Connected Factory environment.
Background
The DINO project is an investment initiative that enhances the capabilities of Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) and Tampere University (TAU) to demonstrate advanced manufacturing technologies and innovative production methods to SMEs. The investment strengthens the research and demonstration infrastructure required to showcase emerging industrial technologies and supports the wider adoption of digitalization, automation, and smart manufacturing solutions within the SME sector.
Goal
The project is expected to have significant regional impacts. Data sharing will become a key competitive factor in the future of manufacturing industries. Through the project, SME representatives will gain access to comprehensive demonstrations and technical reports on data sharing and the implementation of Connected Factories concepts and practices.
By supporting the adoption of connected manufacturing approaches, the project will strengthen the competitiveness, digital capabilities, and innovation capacity of SMEs, while promoting the transition towards smarter and more sustainable industrial production.
