The aim of the course is to explore the different types of yarns and their production processes. After completing the course, the student is able to • define the basic terminology and classify yarn types and structures • describe spun (short-staple and long-staple) and filament yarn production processes • describe the properties of different spun and filament yarns • convert yarn count systems • evaluate sustainability and circular economy aspects related to yarns and yarn manufacturing • use the yarn testing equipment and write a technical report
