We live in a world where not only people but also machines, vehicles and infrastructure communicate wirelessly. The Internet of Things, the Industrial Internet, and 5G/6G mobile networks are the forerunners of a connected and programmable world having an impact on a wide range of industries, such as energy, transportation, defence, healthcare, logistics and manufacturing. Seamless communication and energy-efficient solutions pave the way for sustainable future.
Another prevailing trend in society and industry is robotisation. Modern inventions, such as autonomous cars and drones, strongly rely on efficient and reliable wireless communications while also utilising radio-based positioning and sensing/radar technologies. Wireless communications and radio frequency (RF) technologies enable a wide variety of applications ranging from everyday consumer products to high-end industrial machines, robots and space systems. Artificial intelligence and machine learning tools are used more and more to process RF signals in transceivers as well as in various modelling and circuit design environments.
What Will You Learn?
Wireless Communications and RF Systems combines solid theory with hands-on experience in flexible manner. You can take a broad selection of courses that cover topics such as:
- Wireless communication systems (including 5G/6G networks)
- Radio-based positioning and sensing/radar systems
- Radio-frequency integrated circuits design
- RF and antenna engineering
