Competence Module in Responsible Business and Sustainability, 5 - 20 cr

The module focuses on core themes and issues related to corporate responsibility and sustainability in business, such as business ethics, stakeholder management, responsibility reporting, environmental responsibility and sustainability practices in various kinds of organisations. The studies include various learning methods, such as lectures, essays, group work, and exams and the study topics are illustrated with practical case examples. The module includes both lecture and independent study options.

You can start your studies flexibly during the academic year and continue with the remaining courses in the following academic year.

The courses have different completion methods, such as lectures, online teaching, or independent study. You can participate in the teaching remotely by choosing independent study methods or online study methods. Most of the courses include an electronic exam that must be taken in the EXAM examination room (more information below).

Teaching language is English. Courses KAT.VAST.204, 206, 208 can only be completed in English. Course KAT.VAST.202 can be completed either in English or Finnish.

Please note,  it´s strongly recommended to start this module by the course KAT.VAST.202. Regarding the other courses of the module, they can be completed in any order, but we recommend that students follow the numerical order.

Please also note that the implementations have their own internal schedules, for example, as regards teaching and deadlines for handing in coursework.

Where is the electronic exam held?

The student takes the exam at the time of their choice in the EXAM room. The EXAM facilities of the University of Tampere are located on the Tampere campuses, in the University Consortium of Pori and in the University Consortium of Seinäjoki. Read the instructons for the EXAM exam. It is also possible to take exams in the EXAM rooms of other Finnish Unversities in several different locations (co called exam-visit).
