Checklist for admitted Bachelor's and Master's students

Accept your study place
Accept your study place in Studyinfo.fi by the given deadline.

Use the early bird offer or accept your scholarship
You must pay a tuition fee if you come from outside EU/EEA/Switzerland and study in a Bachelor's or Master's programme that is taught in English. If you received a scholarship, secure your scholarship by accepting your study place by the deadline. An early bird offer is available to all fee-paying students who do not have a scholarship.

Budget for your studies
Make sure to budget for your studies carefully. See tips for typical living expenses.

Apply for a residence permit
If you come from outside EU/EEA/EFTA, apply for a residence permit and book an appointment with your local Finnish embassy or mission.

Arrange for health insurance
If you come from outside EU/EEA/EFTA, take out a health insurance policy. If you are an EU/EEA/EFTA citizen, apply for a European Health Insurance card.

Arrange for accommodation
Apply for student housing or find a rental apartment. Please note that it is your responsibility to arrange accommodation for yourself. The application period for TOAS housing starts in May.

Arrange for travelling to Tampere
Make sure you have the required travel documents. This depends on your citizenship and how long your studies will last. You are responsible for organising your own travel to Finland & Tampere.

Starting your studies
Once you arrive in Tampere, it is time to officially register as a student at Tampere University and prepare to start your studies. We have listed he the main things you need to take care of to get started successfully. Remember that your student tutors will be happy to help you even before you get here.
