About me

I am a member of the Signal Processing Research Centre and the 3D Media Group at Tampere University. My most recent research focuses on interaction analysis using machine learning, particularly the predictability of early mother–infant interaction.

My previous research interests include image and video processing, nonlinear filters, robust estimation, and algorithm development for tomographic reconstruction. I have supervised several doctoral and master’s theses and served as a peer reviewer for international scientific journals. I have also been involved in organizing scientific conferences, including IEEE ICIP 2006, IEEE MMSP 2021, and EUVIP 2018.

In teaching, I am responsible for the courses Introduction to Signal Processing and Advanced Signal Processing, and I am a teacher tutor in the course Introduction to Studies in Technology. I am also a responsible person for the Signal Processing and Machine Learning study modules.
