Transforming Research through Innovative Practices for Linked interdisciplinary Exploration (TRIPLE)

Tampere University
Finnish Social Science Data Archive Group
Duration of project1.10.2019–31.3.2023

TRIPLE increases the reuse of research data in the European social sciences and humanities across languages and disciplines as well as enhances the visibility and social impact of research in these fields.

Goal

The project imagines new ways to conduct, connect and discover research. It will support scientific, industrial and societal applications of SSH science and connect researchers with other stakeholders: citizens, policy makers and companies. The project will develop a full multilingual and multicultural solution providing innovative tools to support research.

There are 18 participants, some of which have linked third parties, representing altogether 15 countries. The project receives funding from Horizon 2020, the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, and it is coordinated by Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS).

As a linked third party of CESSDA, the Finnish Social Science Data Archive (FSD) is included in tasks of the project that focus on machine learning training on subject classifications, comparison of existing humanities and social sciences vocabularies and classifications, possible mappings and creation of new vocabularies required, and consequent automated enrichment of data descriptions to improve discoverability.
