Sustronics' ambition is to become 'the' European flagship project for sustainable electronics that demonstrates how electronics industry can benefit from sustainable materials and manufacturing, ecodesign and circular business models, and thus bring the whole sector closer to meeting Green Deal objectives at the same time improving its competitiveness and strategic autonomy.
Tampere University develops wearable health monitoring and energy storage for environmentally compatible single-use electronics. Bio-based and recycled materials are used in wearable sensors and in non-toxic supercapacitors for specific RFID use-cases.
Another part of TAU´s work is to develop Circular business models (CBM) from a scientific perspective. This will open new business opportunities for the European electronics industry and associated industries can be created from a sustainable approach. TAU creates use case and company specific circular value actor mappings, and circular value creation, delivery and capture process frameworks.
