Pathways to the Experience Economy

Co-funded by the European Union
Tampere University of Applied Sciences
Duration of project1.4.2025–31.12.2025

Strengthen participants' worklife skills, to get position in experience economy sector and reduce the sector's  labor shortage.

Goal

In the "Pathways to the Experience Economy" project, a model is being developed to integrate young people facing challenges in the job market into the workforce. At the same time, the
project aims to facilitate the availability of labor for support roles in the event and event tourism
sectors, particularly those requiring lower educational qualifications. The project aims to create
positive change by strengthening young people's self-efficacy and inclusion through a training
program focused on the experience economy. The model enhances the participants' job
search and career planning skills while providing them with practical work experience and a
comprehensive understanding of the experience economy, especially in event and event tourism
jobs.

The training program within the model focuses on the fundamentals of the experience economy,
ensuring a safe work, event, and customer environment. It also emphasizes work practices that
promote well-being and life management, with a focus on an entrepreneurial attitude and taking
responsibility for one’s actions.

Upon completing the training, young participants will have improved job search and career
planning skills, as well as practical experience and competence to perform tasks in the
experience economy sector. The project is implemented in multidisciplinary collaboration with
the Humak University of Applied Sciences (Humak) and the Tampere University of Applied
Sciences (Tamk). Other partners include the City of Tampere Youth Services, Pirkanmaa
Festivals Association, Tampere Tavara-asema, and Bandage Oy.
