MUSE - Accessible and Low Latency Solutions for Music Distance Education, Performance and Production

Tampere University of Applied Sciences
Duration of project1.3.2021–28.2.2023

Increase the supply of music education by introducing pedagogical solutions based on remote technologies.

Goal

The project will equip the parties to develop new education and training provision for the music and other creative sectors, which have not previously had a comprehensive distance offering. This can mean e.g. the development of musical creative thinking and competence (through improvisation, composition, adaptation and production) at all levels of education, in accordance with the requirements of the fundamentals of the newly reformed curricula. Acquiring skills related to remote technologies will enable project implementers and partners to make more efficient and high-quality use of the national and international training offer and to produce it themselves as part of a new business.
As a result of the project, Finnish players in the music industry - teachers, musicians and musicians at different levels of education - will have significantly better skills than before to teach, perform and produce music remotely. The ability of companies to design and implement new types of music education and consumer products and services will also be strengthened. The project will open up new business opportunities for operators and better preparedness for self-employment or paid employment in sectors whose operating conditions have been abruptly and significantly reduced by the corona pandemic.
