As awareness-focused forms of physical activity and rehabilitation become more common, a philosophical examination of what body aware or body conscious exercise means and what it aims to achieve is needed in addition to empirical research.

The purpose of this philosophical project is to clarify and increase understanding of the definition, use, benefits, effectiveness and potential harms of body conscious exercises.
