Human-Centered Technology (IHTE)

The research group Human-Centered Technology (IHTE) investigates user needs and user experience of novel interactive systems. The focus is on the future design of mobile and ubiquitous technologies and novel interaction techniques. The current research topics are digital services for youth participation, human-centred robotics, sustainable travel services and smart transportation services.

Research focus and goals

The research is multidisciplinary and combines engineering and technology development with psychological and sociological understanding of human values and requirements. IHTE works closely together with Tauchi unit, both in research and education.

IHTE's mission is to conduct high-quality, internationally recognised user experience research in order to design mobile and ubiquitous technologies for improving people's life. The research also aims at developing methods for designing, evaluating and implementing novel technical systems with pleasurable user experience.
