Tampere University
Area of focusSociety

Multi-group explores evolving literacy practices and environments from the aspect of multiliteracies both in and out of school contexts and in different age and socioeconomic groups during lifelong learning.

Research focus and goals

EduLit Research Group (Educating for Future Literacies) aims to develop pedagogies to support children’s and adolescents’ literacies that they need in the era of the Internet.

To develop pedagogies, we study children’s and adolescents’ literacy practices as well as their literacy skills in different textual environments – not forgetting the importance of basic literacies.

We develop engaging methods, materials, and learning environments to teach and assess reading and writing skills. In addition, we aim at advancing teacher education that takes into account future literacies.
