Clothing-integrated human-technology interaction

Tampere University

In this project, clothing-integrated passive wireless strain and orientation sensors are pioneered as a body movement-based solution for human-technology interaction.

Goal

This project will establish body movement-based human-technology interaction, where the required input actions to digital devices are touchless, simple, and instinctive. Changes in clothing-integrated strain and orientation sensors, caused by body movements, can be detected and used as wireless inputs for connected devices. After a successful project, proof-of-concept of this system has been established in a home environment.
