Biomaterials and their applications laboratories

Biomaterials and their applications laboratories are located in S-building at the Hervanta campus of the Tampere University. The laboratories are primarily intended for fabrication, manufacturing, modification, synthesis and characterization of biomaterials for medical applications.

The laboratories are shared by three research groups: 

• Bioceramics, Bioglasses and Biocomposites (Massera)
• Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering (Kellomäki)
• Biomaterials for Cell and Tissue Engineering (Oommen)

Our strength is close collaboration with Tampere University’s research groups in cell biology, microfluidics, sensor technology, imaging and computer modelling. This multidisciplinary research environment  has enabled the groups to work with state-of-art applications and solutions. We are experienced to collaborate with academia, clinicians and companies.
