Chandan Kumar

I am a postdoctoral researcher at Tampere University, where my work focuses on understanding the micromechanics of carbide materials. Prior to this, I completed my PhD at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, where I investigated the high-temperature deformation and damage behaviour of Ni-based superalloys.

I have extensive experience in operating and maintaining a wide range of mechanical testing systems, including those designed for extreme temperatures and thermomechanical fatigue. Alongside mechanical characterisation, I am equally passionate about using advanced microscopy techniques to explore structure–property relationships in materials.
