The opening of the academic year at Tampere University is celebrated again as a public event, this time at Hervanta campus.
You're warmly welcome to join the programme, including speeches and announcing of the Alumnus/Alumna of the Year. Information on speakers will be updated shortly.

- Opening speech – Mari Walls, President of the University
- Keynote speech – Juhani Sand, Director of Corporate services, the wellbeing services county of Pirkanmaa
- Announcing the Alumnus/Alumna of the Year – Mari Walls

The ceremony will be also live-streamed and can be followed online.
During the opening day, there will also be programme targeted especially for students when the Opening Festival takes place on campus ground after the opening ceremony. The opening festivities are also followed by an award ceremony where commendable persons on the fields of science, education and societal interaction will be awarded.
