Get to know basic molecular biology laboratory methods! In the course, students will get hands-on experience in laboratory techniques including PCR, gel electrophoresis and immunoblotting. In addition to molecular biology methods, the students will learn the basics of laboratory safety.

For whom: High school students

When: From Friday to Sunday, 26.4.-28.4.2024. On Friday the course will run from 16.00 to 19.30, and on Saturday and Sunday from 9.00 to 15.00.

Where: Tampere University, Kauppi Campus (Arvo Ylpön katu 34, Tampere)

Price: The course is free of charge

Enrollment: Enroll through the web-form by 15.4.2024 at the latest. We can accept 12 students, in the order of enrollment. The enrollment is binding. If you cancel the enrolment later than 7 days before the course, there is a 50 € cancellation fee. In case of illness, the cancellation fee does not apply if you provide a medical certificate. The course will only be organized if there are more than 8 participants. We will send an information letter to all participants before the start of the course.

 

Organiser

The course is organized in collaboration with Tampere University Faculty of Medicine and Health Technology. Responsible teachers are members of the faculty’s research and teaching staff.
